Make the Day Your Own
Random Word Drabble #336 | SEIZE
Drabbles are short stories — exactly 100 words. lf you read, clap, comment, highlight for at least 30 seconds, we’ll know you’ve been here — and I love engaging with readers. Today’s official challenge was 150-words; however, I’m self-publishing because I only wanted to use 100 words. We were also invited to include a cup of coffee and the word “seize,” which I have done.
Brenda sat with a cup of coffee in her hands, trying to soothe this morning’s sadness. Last night’s events were on replay in her head, preventing her from getting a good night’s sleep. Finally, after several restless hours, she jumped out of bed, ready to get the day started.
She nostalgically recalled her parents always saying “Good Morning, Sunshine. Rise and shine — seize the day, making it yours!”
Brenda lived by: “Seize the day and make it your own.” She smiled with her coffee, grabbing her phone.
Calling her parents always made her feel better about the load she carried.
LIFE LESSONS:
1. Always have someone you can count on as your dependable and trusted
“go-to” person.
2. Even bad days can have sunshine if you live that way as a practice.
